Rachel Clunie

President TCSPSA, Area Rep for Eastern Bay of Plenty

We live on a lifestyle block in the Bay of Plenty between Whakatane and Opotiki on the East Coast.  Mum to Sophie 15, Sam 13 and Sarah-Anne 11.  Wife and Secretary to Gary, self-employed Plumber!  I also run my own business and website distributing imported organic products.  As I travel a fair bit we home school our children.  This seems to work best for our lifestyle.  Our family has been on the Correspondence School roll now for nine years.

I have been an Area Representative for the Parent Association in the Eastern Bay of Plenty for a few years now and run an Activity group for homeschoolers.  We meet every second Friday and enjoy activities from sports to arts, performances at local schools via REAP and general socialising.   I am sure there are other families that would like to get together, be informed of the Parent Network and have support they don’t know about already so get in touch!

Our Parents Association is a vital link between the students, supervisors and Te Kura.  I think it is really important that we keep this link open to the Board of Trustees and the current Principal, Mike Hollings, for our students.   We need members in our Association to make this possible so please make contact with our Treasurer today.  Fees are only $20 per annum with half going to your local area.

If you would like more information or to get in contact with other Correspondence families in our area for art and craft activities etc, email me at  rachgary@slingshot.co.nz
